Abstract: |
Machine excavated evaluation trenches Although the evaluation identified features of archaeological significance in the form of two clear ditches, two probable post-holes and a pit, the lack of associated artefactual or ecofactual evidence has impeded interpretation of the results. The three linear features may be of natural origin. The results of the evaluation suggest that the archaeological potential for the area is moderately good, although protected by a substantial soil overburden. No datable material was recovered which hindered interpretation into age or significance. |
