Abstract: |
In September 2013 a watching brief was maintained at 8 Dellfield Close, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire during the construction of a two storey side extension. The excavation area consisted of a bank sloping upwards from the house to the road. The stratigraphy consisted of turf overlying modern made-ground comprising redeposited clay and chalk. The underlying natural strata comprised chalk. No archaeological features or artefacts were observed, and the development is considered to have had a low impact on archaeological remains. |
