Abstract:		 The evaluation fieldwork comprised the excavation of 3 trenches:2no 25m x 1.8m trenches; and 1no 20m x 1.8 trench. The trenches were excavated by a mechanical excavator equipped with a toothless ditching bucket. Topsoil and subsoil were stored separately adjacent to each trench. The original project involved the presence of six trenches. SCCAS suggested a staged approach with the excavation of the 50% of the trenches across the area of house construction (a total of 70m of standard width trenching). A contingency was made for the remaining 50% upon the competition and the results of the first three trenches. In this occasion SCCAS determined that it was not necessary to proceed with the excavation of the remaining three trenches A total number of three trenches was excavated revealing the absence of any archaeological feature. Due to the outcome, SCCAS established that it was not necessary to proceed further with the archaeological evaluation.
