Abstract: |
Monitoring of the area stripped for the footprint of a new pool revealed two features, a pit and ditch, the former certainly of Medieval date, cutting the natural geology. A collection of charred plant remains was recovered from the medieval pit suggesting the processing of arable produce nearby. Much modern dumping across the area was also revealed. The ditch is more probably post-medieval but only tentatively dated. |
