Abstract: |
Archaeological evaluation of a T-shaped, 12m and 12m long by 1.8m wide, as detailed in the Brief and WSI An archaeological evaluation (one trial-trench) was undertaken at Crown House, Crown Street, Dedham, Essex in advance of the construction of a new dwelling. The development site is located on the eastern edge of the medieval town of Dedham which contains a wealth of 14th century and later buildings. The site also lies within an area of important Bronze Age and early Roman cropmark landscapes including a substantial complex of 11 ring-ditches. Despite being located in an archaeologically-sensitive area, no archaeological features or deposits were uncovered during this evaluation. |
