Abstract:		 Monitoring of all groundworks as per the Brief and WSI Archaeological monitoring was carried out at 65 Maidenburgh Street, Colchester, Essex, during groundworks for a new rear extension. Located within Insula V of the Roman walled town, the development site is located within an area of rich archaeological remains. However, groundworks only went 0.4m deep and no archaeological remains were impacted. The only features uncovered were the brick foundations and part of a brick floor from the old and recently demolished extension.
