Abstract: |
The installation of a small soakaway and associated drainage run was monitored. Despite the potential for archaeological structures or deposits to be present, no features of archaeological interest were identified. The stratigraphy observed was composed of redeposited topsoil and backfill material. This most likely dates to the landscaping and redevelopment of the late 19th century and suggests that the turf embankment on which the soakaway is situated was constructed or at least consolidated at this time. |
