The Medieval Trinitarian Priory of the Holy Trinity Easton Royal, Wiltshire
R Holley (Ed.)
Project to locate and map the remains of a Trinitarian Priory at Easton Royal, possibly the only remaining priory of this order in England undisturbed by later development. The aim was to identify its location using archives in the British Museum, the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre and the Longleat Estate archives, and to carry out full topographical and geophysical surveys to locate any surviving features associated with the priory and its holdings. The project was undertaken jointly by the Archaeological and Historical Landscape Research Group, the Easton Royal Heritage Group, the community of Easton Royal and Easton Royal school, made possible by a generous grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
