A1 Motorway: Walshford to Dishforth Archaeological Evaluation
A
<summary>A desk-top study was undertaken on the line of the proposed A1 motorway corridor. The study indicated that there was little recorded archaeology along the proposed route. Fieldwalking indicated that the archaeology of the route corridor was dominated by evidence of prehistoric activity in the form of flint scatters. There was a notable lack of medieval surface finds and evidence of medieval cultivation. Further investigation was recommended. {italon}AIP{italoff}

Moor Lane, Stamford Bridge. An Archaeological Evaluation
M Griffiths
Archaeological investigations comprising geophysical survey and excavation were undertaken to identify the nature of archaeological remains identified during a previous desk-top assessment. The site proved to contain evidence of a system of Roman ditches, medieval cultivation and post-medieval land improvement. There was no evidence to suggest the presence of an Iron Age cemetery, Roman road, or enclosures as recorded in the Sites & Monuments Record. [Au(adp)]
