The watching brief was carried out during groundworks relating to a new bungalow. The site lies approximately 500m south of a Bronze Age barrow cemetery and 200m east of a medieval pottery kiln site found in 1962. The remains of Croyland Abbey lie 400m to the west. The watching brief did not locate any evidence of archaeological remains. However, a record was made of a sequence of alluvial silts and clays revealed in the trench sides.

An archaeological watching brief was carried out during ground-works for a single house. Ditches and possibly a pit were revealed in foundation trenches, associated with late 12th to 14th century pottery. The remains probably represent a continuation of medieval settlement evident as earthworks in adjacent field.

An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the construction of a new bungalow and garage. The site lies on land to the rear of properties fronting the River Welland. The project produced a generally negative result, with terrace gravels located at the base of the foundation trenches, overlain by thick deposits of clay alluvium. A deposit seen in the garage foundations at the northern end of the plot may have had an archaeological origin but was undated. The results are consistent with the findings of an earlier evaluation carried out on land to the east, at No 17 Suttons Lane.

A watching brief was carried out during groundworks associated with the construction of a house and garage on land adjacent to No. 5 Venom Road, Manby, Lincolnshire. Earthworks of probable medieval date are present in the adjacent field. The only evidence of archaeologically significant activity was a linear feature, probably a ditch. This feature may relate to the earthwork. Finds were limited to a single potsherd and a fragment of animal bone, both from the uppermost fill of the ditch.

A programme of strip, map and sample excavation was undertaken during groundworks relating to the construction of a two-storey house and adjoining double garage at South Riding, Essendine Road, Ryhall, Rutland. Fieldwork was carried out on the 24th and 25th May 2010. The site lies in close proximity to rectilinear cropmarks believed to represent a prehistoric field system, while a Roman pottery scatter was found in the 1960's on land immediately west of the development. Groundworks associated with the development revealed an undated gully aligned east-west, which extended across the western part of the site. Together with a possible north-south return, the feature may have formed part of the prehistoric field system identified from aerial photographs. No artefacts were found on the site.
