Lowering of the ground level across the site revealed evidence of earlier structures on the site. These took the form of cellars and other small outbuildings and were probably of 18th or 19th date.

Watching Brief carried out for the construction of a new house, the footprint of which overlay that of a demolished bungalow. No features or finds were seen during the excavation of the footing trenches.

Archaeological monitoring was undertaken when the pews and wooden floor was removed from the north and south aisles at Carleton Rode church. Removal of the wooden wall plate along the south aisle revealed scars in the plaster indicating the position of an earlier set of pews. It was also noted that the width of the south aisle was not consistent along its length, narrowing slightly to the west.

The site is known to be the location of a 15th century clay extraction pit. The clay was used to make bricks, the manufacturing process probably being carried out on this site. Archaeological evidence for this comes from aerial photographs and observation in the mid 20th century. Due to the strenthening of flood defences a new dyke will cut across this field. Ahead of this 6 evaluation trenches were excavated. The edge of the clay extraction pit was noted in two of these. Areas of redeposited clay incorporating brick fragments were noted in two trenches. A pit containing pottery of an 11th- to 14th- century date along with under-fired and hard fired brick was excavated, along with three other undatable features. Overall the amount of brick found was small considering this is thought to be a manufacturing site, although disturbance in the late 18th/early 19th century and again in the 20th century may have removed much of the archaeological evidence.

This evaluation of a plot of land on the north-western edge of the village of Hemsby revealed many archaeological features. The majority of these were field boundary ditches of probable medieval date; a very small quantity of 11th- to 14th-century pottery was recovered from their fills. At least one of the ditches was post-medieval as it contained 16th- to 18th-century pottery and post-medieval brick. Pits which contained pottery from the 13th and late 15th to 16th century were recorded in the trench located closest to the road. A few residual struck flints were also recovered.

Recording of a cable trench for three wind turbines. Work was within area of known field sysyems probably Iron Age or Roman in date which have been identified from the study of aerial photographs. These systems cover a vast area of eastern Norfolk and are of nation significance. Excavated trench was only 0.30m wide but six features were identified and recorded, four of which are visible on aerial photos. Five of the features were sealed by up to 0.6m of subsoil and topsoil, the other cuts the topsoil is therefore much more recent in date. No artefacts were recovered from the excavation.

Watching brief on electrical supply to to new pumps. No archaeological features or artefacts revealed.

A watching brief to the rear of Nos 55-57 North Quay revealed archaeological deposits dating from the medieval and post-medieval periods. This included a number of walls which may have been associated with the Carmelite Friary (1276-1538). Evidence of clay tobacco pipe manufacture dating to the second half of the 17th century was recovered. Also recorded were walls and surfaces of a later post-medieval date, some of which maintained the alignments of the earlier medieval walls.

Watching Brief on works to create a reedbed near Potter Heigham. No finds or features of archaeological significance were identified during the project.

Monitoring of excavation of two new dykes as part of programme of works undertaken by the Broads Internal Drainage Board to improve water management at Hickling. A single undated ditch was recorded in the section of a newly excavated dyke.
