et 16 al
Reports work on numerous Roman sites within the 82 square miles of the new town area. The course of Roman settlement is described and discussed in terms of notional territories and subsequent parish boundaries, and a gazetteer is provided. Full excavations were done, and are summarized here, on native rural settlements at Wood Corner, Little Woolstone, and Woughton, and on villas at Bancroft, Wymbush and Stantonbury. Minor excavations and watching briefs on another twenty-one sites are noted, and a third of the volume is given over to reports on construction materials, small finds (except pottery), and environmental samples.
