An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in May 2017 at 17 The Avenue, Cirencester, Gloucestershire. A single test pit, measuring 1.5m by 1.5m, was excavated. An intersection of two walls and a small portion of a probable opus signinum floor were identified during the evaluation. These structural elements are most likely associated with the continuation of Roman Building XIV, 2 which fronting street D, the boundary between insula I and insula XIV/XV of Roman Cirencester.
