An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology during groundworks associated with the construction of a new petrol station at the ASDA supermarket, Bruton Way, Gloucester.
A stone built wall, possibly associated with a former Midlands Railway locomotive shed, and a brick built soakaway and associated drain, probably associated with the former Eastgate Railway Station sidings, were identified. A small, undated ditch was also identified aligned parallel with the brick built drain that has been interpreted as contemporary through association.
