Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. Overview

The digital archive held by the ADS is from the evaluation and assessment (2007-2012) phase of the project, and comprises outputs from works undertaken by York Archaeological Trust, On-Site Archaeology, and the University of York.

York Archaeological Trust

The digital archive comprises the following elements:

  • A collection of fieldwork and assessment reports from the YAT phases of work;
  • Shapefiles of all contexts;
  • Digital photographs of Artefacts, Contexts, Groups and Working shots;
  • A spreadsheet of context data.

On-Site Archaeology

The digital archive comprises the following elements:

  • An assessment report from the On-Site phase of work;
  • A CAD file containing a plan of the excavations.

University of York

The digital archive comprises the following elements:

  • The 2013 assessment report from the University of York work, including specialist reports on stratigraphy, CBM, flint, pottery, metalwork, animal bone, human bone and a wooden bucket;
  • Shapefiles of all contexts, trenches and limit of excavation;
  • Digital photographs of Artefacts, Contexts, Groups and Working shots.
