Abstract: |
Between November 2007 and April 2008 Oxford Archaeology carried out an archaeological watching brief at St Michael's Church, Stockton, Warwickshire, as part of improvement work to the church. The watching brief revealed several medieval and post medieval burials, which were evaluated on site and either left in situ or re-buried, as well as the original medieval foundation walls for the south wall of the west tower during the work outside the church. Brick floor support walls, footings for the arcade columns and a medieval tile floor surface were revealed during the work within the church itself. |
