Abstract: |
The fabric of the basement of 4, Maids of Honour Row, Richmond was examined during stripping for refurbishment . One aim of the investigation was to determine whether any parts of Richmond Palace survived beneath, or were incorporated into, Maids of Honour Row. At no point were any structures or deposits of proven Tudor /Medieval date encountered. The basement is of a single build from 1725 with late 18th century and later modifications. |
