Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken at 28 Cross Street, OswestryShropshire (NGR SO 94091 41906). It was undertaken on behalf of the J Ross Limited, who intends to build an extension at the rear of the current building. All groundworks including the building foundations and service trenches were observed. No significant archaeological deposits were encountered. Natural ground was recorded at a maximum of 0.80m below ground level. All other deposits consisted of modern demolition rubble, made ground and was heavily truncated by modern services from the existing buildings surrounding the site. |
