Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring at Arley House, Wendens Ambo, Essex - monitoring revealed previously unknown organic-rich clay deposits suggesting the presence of a former pond or infilled quarry pit, or a reclaimed area of low-lying marshy ground. No other archaeological remains were noted despite the proximity of the site to known Roman and Medieval settlements. |
