Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was maintained during groundworks relating to a developmnent for student accommodation. A previous heritage assessment had identified the former presence of small scale industry and residential properties on the site dating from the mid-19th century onwards. The watching brief was maintained over 16 days between March and June 2012. During the monitoring several walls, brick floors and structures were revealed as well as artefacts relating to small scale industry, such as button making and metal working |
