Abstract: |
Lavenham, Jane Taylor's Cottage, Shilling Street (LVM 098, TL 9181 4917) monitoring of ground works for a large extension to the rear of a listed house of early Post medieval date and a new garage close to the street frontage did not reveal any features or finds of archaeological significance. With just one stray pottery find of medieval date from the upcast spoil it might be suggested that the town did not expand into the Shilling Street area until the 16th century. |
