Abstract:		 On the 19th and 20th April 2011 a watching brief was maintained on the groundworks associated with the construction of a replacement extension on the northern elevation of Ore Place Farmhouse, Ore, East Sussex. All of the trenches were sterile of archaeological features with a small quantity of 19th-20th century artefacts recovered. This is most likely as a result of the construction of the earlier extensions and the associated drain runs having destroyed any archaeological evidence that may have been present. However, the excavations did allow the examination of the Farmhouse foundations, and the removal of the existing extensions revealed evidence for the Farmhouse having previously been a coach house for Ore Place Manor.
