Abstract: |
This report was prepared to inform a store development proposal. The research to inform the report included a search of the Birmingham City Historic Environment Record and Sandwell Historic Environment Record. A further documentary search was also carried out including historic mapping. To supplement this, a site walkover survey was carried out. There were no recorded heritage sites within the development site and no setting issues were identified as any Listed Buildings were considered sufficiently distant. It was also concluded that it was unlikely that any significant previously unrecorded remains would be present within the development site. However it was identified, through site investigations, that palaeoenvironmental deposits may be present within the site. It was recommended that consultation with a geoarchaeologist be completed to identify the potential for suitable palaeoenvironmental remains and a programme of sampling to be designed. |
