Abstract: |
An extensive building recording showed that the former RAF Daws Hill appeared to be a largely piece-meal development laid out to requirement rather than to plan. Residential areas were separate but leisure, work and school facilities were mixed within the technical area. There was little to identify it as an American base (as it as for most of the period from 1941 until closure in 2007) other than the names of roads, estates and school accommodation. |
