Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during construction of installations serving the Broadcasting Transmission Station, which is located toward the summit of Cottington's Hill, the documented site of a medieval hunting lodge, and close to surviving earthworks. An area of 22m by 18m was stripped to the underlying chalk and revealed two small curving ditches that yielded pottery of 13th-15th century date. |
