Abstract: |
An archaeological investigation (strip, plan and sample) was carried out by ULAS during ground-works at The Bank', Main Street, Ullesthorpe, Leicestershire (SP 5065 8771). The site lies in the medieval and post-medieval core of Ullesthorpe. The site previously contained a detached 19th-century house (originally two dwellings) with a long rectangular garden behind. The land had been stripped of vegetation prior to the archaeological attendance. Areas for new dwellings at the western side of the garden and along the street frontage were stripped and observed. No archaeological features or archaeological artefacts were observed or retrieved during the archaeological work. |
