Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 6.8 hectares of agricultural land, currently in arable use. A small number of anomalies of a probable and possible archaeological origin have been identified within the survey area. These include a small area of ridge and furrow ploughing in the north east of the site, and a small number of linear and curvi-linear anomalies indicating the presence of cut features of an archaeological origin. There is also a feature possibly indicative of an infilled historic pond. Areas of magnetic disturbance and magnetic debris, which are a common feature of surveys on modern agricultural land, are also present, as are some areas of natural magnetic variation along the eastern extent of the survey area. |
