Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation consisting of two trial trenches was undertaken in advance of a proposed development. Excavation located deposits of a recent date which had resulted from landscaping associated with the construction of the existing farmhouse. A consideration of the cartographic and historical records suggested occupation on the site from the 12th century and that the earlier Lead Hall was demolished and replaced by Lead Hall Farm very early in the first decade of the 20th century.
