Abstract: |
The excavations went some way to disperse the notion that the area was devoid of Roman activity. The archaeology discovered demonstrated that the site was in use during the Iron Age and the recovery of an Iron Age silver coin suggested that there was a high status occupation in the area. It was known that Iron Age sites generally continued in use through the Roman period so it was inferred that this site was also. [AIP] |
