Abstract: |
A geophysical (magnetometer) survey, covering 5.4 hectares of land east of the A606 Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray, was carried out to inform the submission of a planning application for a proposed development. Clear ridge and furrow anomalies have been identified throughout the PDA, mirroring the extant linear earthworks throughout the site. No anomalies of archaeological interest have been identified although evidence of ridge and furrow cultivation may be of local historical interest. On the basis of the geophysical survey the archaeological potential of the site is considered to be low. |
