Abstract: |
Ickworth, Ickworth House (IKW 019, TL 8150 6154) Monitoring of ground works, comprising a raft foundation and service trench, for a new ablutions block to be located in the north-western corner of the car park at the property did not reveal any archaeological features or finds. At the site, which is c60m north-west of Ickworth House, ground works for a shallow raft foundation exposed a mixed deposit comprising re-deposited subsoil containing occasional fragments of Post medieval brick and tile while a related service trench revealed similar material above undisturbed natural clay with flints. |
