Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out on land at south east of Low Farm, Summer Lane, Bromeswell in advance of the construction of two steel framed buildings. A single ditch was observed during the evaluation, from which a flint flake and single sherd of prehistoric pottery were recovered. When the building footprint was subsequently stripped, monitoring identified a large, curving likely enclosure ditch and various pit-type features containing Bronze Age and Iron Age pottery, although there had been significant truncation of these deposits. A small pit contained probable redeposited pottery associated with Bronze Age cremations. |
