Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 8.9 hectares of arable land. The survey has identified a former field system, which is possibly Roman in date. A possible enclosure and two other linear anomalies of possible archaeological origin have also been detected, however these could equally relate to modern features or agricultural activity. Former field boundaries and areas of modern ploughing suggest that the area's agricultural usage continued through the medieval period and into modern day. The remaining anomalies are natural or modern in origin, relating to land drains, ferrous objects, and fencing. |
