Abstract:		 Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by CH2M Hill, on behalf of the Environment Agency to carry out a phased programme of multi-disciplinary archaeological mitigation works associated with the proposed improvement scheme for the River Exe flood defences within the city of Exeter, Devon. The works, which comprised of geophysical survey, archaeological trial trenching, test pitting, watching brief and historic building recording, were undertaken between September and December 2014. This form relates to the evaluation trenches.
