Abstract:		 Planning permission granted by Peterborough City Council, for landscaping works designed to provide universal access to the main, western doorway into the cathedral's nave, was conditional upon the implementation of a programme of archaeological observation and recording during development groundworks. Previously buried courses and footings of medieval buildings, plus deposits and features dating from the 19th and 20th centuries, were recorded during archaeological supervision of the groundworks. The only finds were re-used parts of memorial stones.
