Abstract: |
Two new houses are under construction on land off Middle Street, Isham. A small set-piece excavation accompanied ground-works and was undertaken by IS Heritage. A pit and gully contained Roman pottery and appear to be part of a wider area of Roman activity in this area, although the nature of the activity and scale remain unclear. A well, a gully and a spread of pits date from the medieval period. These features are likely to be part of back-plot activity associated with buildings on the Church Street frontage. |
