The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 The site had significant potential for features and finds dating to the Anglo-Saxon and Medieval periods and moderate to low potential for all other periods. In particular, the site spanned the likely line of Bury St Edmunds' town ditch. However, nothing earlier than the gasworks were encountered. The evaluation identified a series of structures that have undergone various phases of alteration, demolition, rebuilding and subsequent demolition. Map regression and photographs illustrate the structural remains identified in the trench are contemporary with the former gas works.
