Abstract: |
Coggeshall, Grange Barn, Grange Hill (CG 21, TL 84938 22200) monitoring of a shallow soil strip for a new access track across the area to the south of Grange Barn did not reveal any archaeological features or in situ evidence for past structures. The base of the stripped track route was 150mm deep and in the area of the former farm yard this revealed a considerable amount of later Post medieval brick and tile debris plus various iron fragments of a similar date and these can be associated with farm yard buildings that were standing until the mid 20th century. To the south and outside the former farm yard the soil strip did not reveal any features or finds of any date. |
