Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was mounted on the groundworks pertaining to the construction of a new residential dwelling and a detached garage. The monitored groundworks for this site consisted of the mechanical excavation of the foundations for a new residential dwelling along with a new detached garage to the rear. No archaeological activity was identified on this site and there were no finds. The findings from this archaeological monitoring consisted of a deposit sequence which comprised a topsoil horizon which overlay a deep and a substantial undated alluvial horizon. This deposit sequence was recorded within four representative sections which were widely distributed across the monitored site. This deposit sequence was found to be consistent over the whole site area. |
