Abstract: |
Between October 2017 and March 2018 a programme of archaeological monitoring took place on a piece of land west of the Alton Water Visitor Centre, Holbrook Road, Stutton, Suffolk during ground works in relation to the construction of a caravan site, associated buildings and an access road. No archaeological features were observed in the excavated areas the drainage trenches or soakaway, whilst the excavation for the access road did not breach the topsoil therefore archaeological deposits may survive below this deposit. As the ground works were limited in scope this does not preclude the presence of archaeological remains elsewhere on the site. |
