Abstract:		 In February and March 2018 Archaeological Solutions Ltd carried out archaeological monitoring and recording on land to the rear of 58-60 Woodbridge Road (Orchard Road), Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 2EG (NGR TM 168 446; Figs. 1 - 2). The monitoring was undertaken in compliance with a planning condition attached to planning approval for the construction of two new dwellings (Ipswich Borough Council Ref. IP/15/01098), and based on advice from Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service Conservation Team (SCC AS-CT). The site fronts the western side of Orchard Road and lies to the south of 58- 60 Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, on the north eastern edge of the historic centre of the town. The monitoring revealed the footings (M1004) of the former buildings on the site. The stratigraphy comprised made ground and levelling deposits underneath a bituminous surface. The ground was much disturbed and in addition to the wall footings concrete piles were present.
