Abstract: |
An archaeological trial trench evaluation and strip, map and record exercise was carried out at the site of the Former Seymour Colliery, Staveley , Derbyshire.Three phases of activity were identified at the site. The earliest phase comprised two pits and two postholes dating to the early Bronze Age. The second phase is thought to date to the Iron Age and comprises a circular structure, a possible second structure, a field boundary, a line of stakeholes and a number of associated pits.
