Abstract: |
Two buildings were recorded prior to renovation. The Old School House is likely to date from after a fire in the village in 1792, and had already been extended by the time of the Tithe map of 1842. it originated as a 2-bay (possibly 3) and was extend to the north into an approximate square. The later school buildings are securely dated by a plaque to 1886, with the plan form seeing little change except the incorporation of a verandah at the south end into the building's smaller room. |
