Abstract: |
In June and October 2009 ARCUS were commissioned by Demolition Services Limited to undertake an archaeological watching brief on a site at Sylvester Gardens SK 3537 8651. The three areas excavated all produced similar results. Once the slab was removed modern clinker made ground was encountered. The made ground had 2 modern concrete structures within it. Within site C a row of three 3m cubed concrete blocks were unearthed. The insertion of the blocks has destroyed any earlier phases of activity in this area. Site B had a North-South aligned concrete wall which had Iron reinforcement bars inside. Site D did not display any structural remains. |
