Abstract: |
Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Bargate Homes Limited to undertake an archaeological watching brief on land at 138 Springvale Road in King Worthy, Hampshire. The work was undertaken in response to a condition attached to a planning application for a residential development. The site lies within an area of archaeological potential. There have been evidence of prehistoric and Romano British actives around the development area with a scheduled monument area consisting of banjo enclosures, a roman villa and field system to the south and southeast of the site. During the watching brief no archaeological features or deposits were encountered. The development has not had any impact on the local archaeological resource. |
