Abstract:		 On the 26th and 27th of July 2018 Britannia Archaeology LTD (BA) undertook a trial trench evaluation at Land Adjacent to Heath Lodge, Heath Road, Colchester on behalf of Abora Homes Ltd, in advance of the construction of two new dwellings in the former grounds of Heath Lodge. The archaeological evaluation did not encounter any archaeological features within the trial trenches; however, the evaluation was successful in identifying some form of post-medieval activity on the site, with the formation of subsoil layer 1001 from the 18th to 19th century, and subsequent formation of topsoil layer 1000 from the 19th century onwards.
