Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring and recording was carried out by AC archaeology during groundworks associated with the construction of a new stable block on land off Hackpen Hill, Blackborough. The site lies in an area associated with the extraction of ironstone, marl, and gravels between the medieval period and the 19th century. Monitored groundworks comprised the machine excavation of a rectangular area measuring approximately 20m by 10m for the new stable block. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed, and no finds were recovered. |
