Abstract:		 A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of shallow pits for new decking supports on open ground to the north-west of the NAAFI Block in the Outer Bailey of Dover Castle. The work revealed traces of brick foundations relating to a demolished building of c. AD1900. This building was set on a chalk-cut terrace and no features or deposits relating to the medieval castle were present.
