Abstract: |
Monitoring of a geotechnical trial pit was carried out in an area where one of three lime kilns was indicated on the 1871-74 Ordnance Survey map. This revealed a stone plinth on a yellow brick plinth which did not appear to be part of a lime kiln but was probably related to a nearby column associated with the adjacent late 19th-\early 20th-century warehouse. Modern bedding and cobbles sealed these remains. |
