Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was mounted on the groundworks for a new extension to an existing industrial premises. The monitored groundworks consisted of the mechanical excavation of the foundations for the new extension. No archaeological activity was identified on this site and there were no finds. No activity or finds which could be associated with the site of the burial ground associated with the medieval chapel of St. Peter were identified. The findings comprised a site deposit sequence of a shallow and truncated undated buried soil horizon, which lay above an alluvial horizon. |
